Many of our members undertake visits to schools, book groups and other organisations to talk about their writing. This section is subdivided into the different areas our members currently offer to visit
If you are interested in booking a particular SAS author, please contact them directly. However, if you are not sure what your visit requires, or you would like to book someone who publishes in a particular genre, please email and we will try to put you in touch with a suitable author. Please do not expect an instant response however, as emails from this site are not checked every day.

For schools' convenience, the list of authors happy to visit is divided into primary and secondary age children. Please note that some authors are happy to visit both primary and secondary schools, and thus their details appear in both sections. Use the sub-list on the left to help you navigate.

If you would like to book an author for a school visit, we would like to direct you to this page from the Society of Authors: A Guide to Organising an Author Visit. It will help you to plan exactly what you want to achieve from a visit and may answer some of your questions on how to go about it! There is also a helpful guide for schools and universities on Engaging an Author for a One-Off Appearance (which explains how to pay a self-employed author without using the payroll).

Other sub-sections will be added to this area soon.
